Sam continues an active research profile. Her collaborations with the University of Melbourne, the Royal Women's Hospital, Mercy Hospital and Western Health, and the Julia Argyrou Endometriosis Centre at Epworth, enable her to continue important clinical research.
Endometrial hyperplasia and weight loss management
Obesity is a leading risk factor for endometrial hyperplasia, a precursor for endometrial cancer. Sam and Priya performed a systematic review examining the role of weight loss management in the regression of endometrial hyperplasia.

Adenomyosis and Endometriosis: what are the implications for fertility and pregnancy outcomes?
An important recent summary on the associations between endometriosis, adenomyosis, and pregnancy outcomes. Sam continues to investigate these associations with her PhD focus. Whilst there appear to be associations between endometriosis, adenomyosis and poorer pregnancy outcomes, the nature of the relationship between the conditions and outcomes are unknown.

The ultrasound definition of Adenomyosis
Adenomyosis is an important but poorly understood gynaecological condition. It has significant implications for fertility, and possibly for pregnancy outcome. Moreover, it is associated with heavy and painful periods, and is a leading indication for hysterectomy. Thus, reliable pre-operative imaging is important.
